Are you looking for a different type of volunteer job in Peru?
Do you share our passion for the rainforest?

Anaconda Lodge is happy to offer volunteer positions at the lodge. You may work as:

1. Guide
2. Gardener
3. Restaurant service
4. Projects

Details:
1. Guide: After we have taught you about animals, plants, jungle ecology and survival you will guide foreigners from all over the world into the rainforest for 1 to 2 days. The main activity will be jungle walks and canoetrips, camping, fishing, birdwatching, monkey and caimanspotting etc.

2. Gardener: Our botanical garden needs cleaning, watering, naming and planting new trees from the jungle.

3. Restaurant: Our Thai restaurant is very popular with local people as well as guests and especially on weekends we need staff for a friendly service for the kitchen and bar.

4. Other projects: You are welcome to propose your personal project concerning Anaconda Lodge and rainforest to info@anacondajunglelodge.com . Examples: Creating a plant nursery, starting small animal farming (edible snails, suris, rodents), building a pizzaoven, put scientific names on plants, writing a bird- or butterflylist, writing fieldguides, building a fishpond.

We are especially interested in the following experts: Botanists, gardeners, carpenters, electricians, barmen/maids, birdwatchers, butterflyexperts, fotographers and moviemakers.

You may freely choose your arrival and departure date, but especially if you want to work as a guide, longer stays are preferable, because you need time to get to know the jungle.

Benefits
You will sleep in a bungalow with fan, electric light and a view of the tropical garden and swimmingpool. You will have an American breakfast in the morning and delicious Thai or local food for lunch and dinner.

You will work only 50% of the time, so you have plenty of time to discover the city and its nightlife (there is party every night in Puerto), the center is easily accesible by public transport (15 mins). Or you may prefer the surrounding jungle you can easily reach by bicycle or motorbike.
You can also just enjoy Anaconda Lodge with its swimmingpool, nearby lake, library with books about the jungle, botanical garden and your hammock on the deck of your bungalow.

You will learn a lot about the jungle (ecology, spotting animals, canoeing and fishing, handling a machete, medicinal plants, ecological tropical agriculture, jungle survival and you may even learn goldmining, (the last one only during dry season). And you will of course improve your Spanish tremendously!
